The Potting Shed
41 Bourke Road, Alexandria NSW 2015, Australia
Such a lovely place to gather with friends~ Let’s start the feast!
See the two empty plates at the bottom? We were so hungry and we couldn’t wait for all the food to come.
What a beautiful drink to start off your meal, it is made with 7 year old rum, coconut and pineapple.
The squid is nice and tender.
It was tasty but one of the wings was undercooked, I guess you should remind the kitchen to make sure it is cooked thoroughly next time.
Oh My God! I will come back for the mussels. The white wine sauce is so good.
Happy to see those colors on the plate, the citrus cured ocean trout on soft brioche is appetizing.
Big fat pork belly with cucumber, kimchi and soy mayo on charcoal buns.
The dish looks so pretty! I believe flowers help transform the presentation of all dishes. Raw quail egg on the top, mix it together with the fresh beef and ta da~
Can’t really see the steak from this angle, sorry guys haha. But look at the big fat handcut chips! The onion rings are huge and fresh as well. I usually go for a medium-rare steak but I only get to choose from medium and well done here, so I asked for medium. It came almost well done and that was disappointing. The mushroom sauce tastes nice but I prefer a thicker one.
I would recommend their pasta. The chili sauce is very refreshing, not spicy but it stimulates your taste buds and you’ll just want more. It also has a right amount of clams and mussels. I hate it when restaurant gives you horribly disproportionate pasta, with only few tiny seafood flesh. All you have is mouthful of carbs but they cost you a lot just because it was named a seafood pasta.
Take a walk around The Grounds before or after your meal, it is beautifully decorated.
It’s Mother’s Day, bring your mom along and share the joy!
